This course is designed primarily to help High School teachers using Proficiency Based Learning (PBL) to explore and deploy Google Classroom as a Learning Management System (LMS). It may also be helpful to Middle School or Elementary Teachers in evaluating how educational choices can be influenced or supported by current technology.
The course is structured on four levels, similar to a PBL rubric. To start, participants assess needs and familiarize themselves with Classroom components. Following that, participants practice combining these components, evaluating what does or does not work efficiently and or sustainably. At the proficient level, participants practice managing resources and building workflows for instruction, communication and grading. Finally, two advanced topics are presented: interfacing with JumpRope (a popular PBL reporting system) and using Google Apps Scripts (gScripts).
